About Me

Recirculating Hydration Module

Pathology requires rehydration of wax tissue blocks, and this modular fluid-mechanical design offers 2 methods of delivering water from a reservoir to a set of blocks in a controlled and easily-cleanable manner.

3D Resin Print Hydration

Skills trained: design for drop-in replacement, 3D resin printing-washing-drying process, tolerancing, product validation testing (design)

Lance, a Combat Robot

The 2021-22 Sportsman Robot of Combat Robotics @ Cornell

Lance is a 12 lb combat robot designed, manufactured, and assembled by a team of 9 Cornell students. He is teleoperated, operates on a smooth indirect drive, and wields a snappy 11” aluminum lance.

The Breathuino

Mechatronics Individual Project - Cornell MAE 3780

The Breathuino is a physical visualization of one’s heartbeat that expands and contracts, meant to facilitate deep breaths and relaxation. The user begins the kinetic art piece’s movement by interacting with a TCS3200 color sensor and a push button.

Assembly Drawing Breathuino Horizontal

Skills trained: debugging hardware and Arduino code, basic circuit design, artistic execution

Belle, a Block Collecting Robot

Mechatronics Group Project - Cornell MAE 3780

My team of 3 (Michelle Zhou, Bruno Tassari, and Alvaro Lee Borrell) designed, built, and coded a robot using lab materials for the Robot Competition Showcase in Duffield on December 7, 2021. Our bot features block detection by means of 2 ultrasonic sensors, color detection, and black border detection by means of 2 QTI sensors. Our strategy is slow and steady with intelligence and combative skills.
